FixED That Blower Fan!

Our bathroom exhaust fan howled every so often when used, even the first week we moved into this house. Last week, it finally whimpered its last noisy spin...Don't fall!! Notice the cavity up there...
What it sez on the shroud, on the label
NExt, separate the old motor from the shroudNo bolts left behind, okay?
New blower motor and fan, $14.00 from Lowe's. Fix the fan to the motor...
Securely bolt the motor blower combo into the shroud..
Coup de grace; bolting the fan back into the cavity...
Good as new now. Saved some money, again!

Thanksgiving Day 2010

We got this 15-pounder from our regular halal meat supplier, Salem's of Pittsburgh. First step is to clean the poulet thoroughly...
Dry the birdy as good as you could. Nice and plump little guy...
Here comes the butter. I used melted butter stick; one whole stick.

Prepping the turkey by getting real friendly with it; salt and pepper next..400F for the first hour, and 350F for the second hour. We had wanted to cook at 400F for the last hour but upon checking, the thighs are already 185F, breast at 165F, so that's it..
Tented it for an hour, before I cut the main parts up. Muhsin's already eyeing his drumstick!
Hamzah got the other leg...

We finished almost 1/3 of the bird between the six of us. Maybe another 1/2 of it by tonite. OK, Muhsin! How much will be left, after dinner tonite, if that is so?

Raya Outing to Pittsburgh

What was a trip to a Raya open house ended up to be at Salem's Grill open menu...Here's the made-to-order dishes...
My Big Cranberry drink and lamb and rice went well together. Muhsin, not so well with the onions in the pie...

Morning of Raya Haji 2010

Pah took the kids to the prayers which were held at the Ski Hut. Since they were early, they had to wait... Here are the boys, viewing the slope from the hut...Almost ready for solat..

Walk One Mile

This morning, after sending Muhsin to school, I drove over to Lias Tire. Ms. smartbiru needed a front-end alignment and her appointment was for nine. It was drizzling lightly as I drove into the garage. After giving the key to Tim, I left to walk home. It's a mile away. I reached home after twenty minutes without having to use the brolly. I like walking. However, I wish I'd walked more often!
Yes, it's clammy weather.

DIY Oven Clock Replacement

Easy as unburnt pie!! (which would have been 'burnt pie' before the fix).

First, unscrew the rear protective panel...

Oh my, oven's nekkid!

Peel off the clock facia..

.....completely from the ori clock...

New clock's ready to go onto the oven..

Done!

Saved at least $200.00... hahahahaha (laughing to the bank)..
